Ah, the box spring — your mattress' useful yet less glamorous counterpart. It can add height to your bed while extending the life of your mattress, but it's not much to look at.
Depending on your bed frame, your box spring might be partially hidden or completely visible. That means it should be treated and styled just like any other part of the bed. Here are a few of our favorite ways to cover it:

Made for one purpose alone, box spring covers are easy to apply and add a finishing touch to your bed. Most are available in coverlets and shams as well for a cohesive look.
Ann Gish's elegant Charmeuse Channel Quilted box spring cover is 100% silk but can be machine washed as needed. It features elastic corners to keep it from slipping and can be easily closed with velcro at the head of the bed.
For a modern, yet softer look, check out Pine Cone Hill's Diamond box spring cover. This easy-care cotton is machine washable and comes in neutral ivory to match any decor.

The most classic way to cover a box spring, bed skirts add the finishing touch for the glamorously styled bed. Most of our bed skirts will come in three different panels so you won't have to lift or remove your mattress to install them. These panels will also allow them to fit around the corners of your bed if you have a post or rice bed. Our bed skirts often come with pins to help adjust the drop length and customize your look.
One of our most popular options is Sferra's Grande Hotel bed skirt, which is finished with a one-inch plain hem and a mid-panel inverted pleat. It includes a set of pins to make it adjustable to a drop of up to 18 inches.
Another option for a clean, modern feel is Sferra's Bari collection, which features a diamond pique pattern and is adjustable to fit drops of up to 18 inches. If you're looking for something more traditionally elegant, check out Pine Cone Hill's classic hemstitch option.

Nowadays many people opt to cover their box springs with a fitted sheet that matches the rest of their bed linens. If you're feeling bold, you could pick a contrasting color or even a print.
