Fall into Fall: Our favorite products for cozy season

The morning air is getting crisper and mums are appearing on our neighbors' front porches, which means — as we say in the South — it's Fall, Y'all. And we're ready for fuzzy slippers, pumpkin-spice everything and all things cozy.

In addition to those mums, there are a few ways to get your home ready for cooler weather. It can be as simple as draping a throw over the foot of your bed or snuggling up in a warm robe.

Here are some of our favorite products for fall:

Foot throws

A perfect way to add a partial layer to your bed right where it matters (keeping those toes warm!), a foot throw can add color and texture as well.

Foot throws are their own category of bedding, usually available in queen or king, or one size that fits both. You may also hear them referred to as "Bed End or Bed Scarf"

For this bed we used a plush velvet foot throw layered on top of Matouk's Quincy duvet cover and added some coordinating accent pillows (see more pillow styling tips here).

You don't have to stop there -- layer a traditional-sized throw on top of your foot throw for more eye-catching texture and warmth.

Throws

They aren't just for the bed. You can toss — or "throw" — them anywhere. Lay one over the back of the couch for a fireside evening, stash one in a basket on your screened-in porch for a chilly morning coffee or even drape one over yourself as a fashion statement when the temps start to drop.

This Italian Herringbone throw was on Oprah's Favorite Things list for good reason: it's cashmere-soft yet lightweight and comes in tons of colors.
